# Video scripts

Use the brief's audience, platform, offer, tone, duration, approved claims, and requested format. Ask only for missing information that prevents a useful draft; label other assumptions. Claims in dialogue, captions, and directions must come from the brief. Never invent a destination URL or strengthen a supplied claim: “includes practice prompts” does not establish prompts with every lesson. Mark missing production details as needs rather than facts.

Give the opening a concrete reason to watch, then develop one message and close with the supplied offer. Match scenes to the requested duration; timestamps must be contiguous, non-overlapping, and cover the complete runtime. Keep dialogue separate from on-screen copy and production notes.

Check the spoken dialogue word count against an explicit word budget before delivery. Count only spoken words, not directions or captions. If no budget is supplied, estimate from delivery pace and leave room for pauses and the CTA. Written timing is a plan; only a recorded read can confirm the delivery fits. Never describe an estimated read as measured.

Suggest achievable shots or B-roll that demonstrate the message. Mark unavailable footage as a production need. Keep on-screen text readable and clear of platform controls. Provide thumbnail concepts or alternative hooks only when useful to the requested deliverable.

Return the requested artifact or scene table with time, dialogue, on-screen text, and shot direction. Keep production notes brief. Do not add stock templates, a publishing workflow, or claims that media was rendered.
